FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automatic mail sorting. Proposed method comprises first sorting cycle whereat first sorting outlets S1-S78 are isolated for first mail addressees A1-Z3 with high degree of filling. One other one other sorting outlet S79 is marked out for second delivery addressees A'1-Z'3 with low degree of filling. Separation inserts are directed to first sorting outlets. Mail from the other sorting outlet are returned and subjected to the second sorting cycle. During said cycle first sorting outlets are marked out for second delivery addressees. In case sorting outlets use loading flutes (4) at the end of second sorting cycle mails of the first and second addressees are sorted layer-by-layer in one flute and separated by said insert.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of sorting.
