FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of obtaining derivatives of 2,4,6-tri-iodisophthalic acid, which are intermediate compounds for obtaining contrasting agents, in particular iopamidol. Method includes interaction of formula (II) compound with formula (III) compound or its salt in presence of organic base. Invention also relates to method of obtaining iopamidol, which consists in obtaining formula (II) compound by reaction of 5-amino-2,4,6-tri-iodisophthalic acid with sulphur-containing chlorinating agent. After that, formula (II) compound is immediately brought into reaction with (2S)-2-hydroxypropionic acid or its salt with obtaining dichloride of 5-[(2S)-2-hydroxypropionylamino] 2,4,6-tri-iodisophthalic acid of formula (I). Obtained formula (I) compound is subjected to interaction with 2-amino-1,3-propandiole to obtain iopamidol.
EFFECT: improved method of obtaining derivatives of 2,4,6-tri-iodisophthalic acid.
