FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used mainly in countryside and suburb nursery gardens, which power supply is made from transformer substations (TS) with rather long overhead power lines and at the ends of such lines mains voltage decreases to unaccepted level thus deteriorating quality of services rendered by energy service companies. According to method of loss compensation at the end of long power line at the beginning of the first and third quarter of alternating voltage period respective pair of commutating transistors is open interchangeably, and within the first and third quarter of period two similar capacitors are charged though this pair of commutating transistors; at the beginning of the second and fourth quarter commutating transistors are closed, thereafter these capacitors are connected in-series by means of controllable bidirectional thyristor and discharged back to the mains during the second and fourth quarter of the period, at that pair of commutating transistors is open in the first quarter of the period, and the other pair of commutating transistors is open in the third quarter of the period; control of both pairs of commutating transistors and bidirectional thyristor is made by control unit as per the preset algorithm with mains voltage synchronisation.
EFFECT: increasing mains voltage at the end of loaded power line by relatively simple means.
