FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to traditional fixed network users accessing the Internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) domain. The disclosed methods and system include classifying fixed network users in the same region into a group, and configuring group information in an access gateway control function. When an access gateway initiates fixed network user registration to the access gateway control function, the access gateway control function initiates group registration to an interrogating call session control function (I-CSCF). The I-CSCF interrogates a home subscriber server about a service call session control function (S-CSCF) to which the group belongs, and the group is registered to the S-CSCF.
EFFECT: reduced network traffic.
