FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of construction articles based on reaction-bonded silicon carbide, designed for use in mechanical engineering (face seal, friction bearings), power engineering (injection nozzles), chemical engineering (lining, stop valves), thermal fitting (heaters, shields, thermocouple protection tubes), rocket engineering (nozzles), space and laser engineering (reflectors and mirrors). The task is solved by that the composition contains artificial graphite with particle size of not more than 50 mcm, silicon carbide with particle size of not more than 60 mcm and powdered phenol binder, with the following ratio of components, wt%: silicon carbide 70-85; graphite 2-10; binder - the balance.
EFFECT: high strength of articles made from the disclosed composition.
