FIELD: ceramics production.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of production of ceramic materials based on silicon carbide (SiC) and molybdenum silicide, which can be used in the production of products with increased heat resistance, in the manufacture of parts of turbines, aviation engines, friction elements, tools, and other parts. A composition for high-temperature ceramics based on silicon carbide and molybdenum silicide includes graphite powder with a particle size of less than 150 mcm, in amount from 60 to 75 wt.%, and molybdenum powder with a particle size of less than 150 mcm, in amount from 5 to 20 wt.%, an organic binder in amount of 20 wt.%. Part of graphite powder up to 20 wt.% may have a particle size of more than 150 mcm. A method for the production of high-temperature ceramics of this composition includes manufacture of a carbon billet by mixing of ground artificial graphite and the organic binder with addition to the mixture of molybdenum powder, its molding and/or pressing under pressure of 50 kg/cm2, pyrolysis in an inert medium, thermal processing, mechanical processing to a shape of a final product, and impregnation with a silicon melt in a vacuum furnace.

EFFECT: use of this group of inventions allows for an increase in a depth of reaction of formation of carbide and molybdenum disilicide during synthesis of MoSi2/SiC material, improvement of material uniformity, increase in dimensions of the resulting products.
