FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: plunger pump is intended, primarily, for use in high-pressure pumps for accumulator fuel systems but may be used in piston compressors and vacuum pumps. Proposed pump comprises housing (1), plunger sleeve (7), pressure valve (14), plunger (8), high-pressure channel (17) and plunger drive (2, 3, 4, 5). In compliance with this invention, pressure valve (14) diameter is larger than that of plunger (8). Note here that said pressure valve (14) serves to shut off completely the plunger bore and to displace along with plunger (8) at the end of its delivery cycle.

EFFECT: decreased dead volume of compression chamber, up to zero.
