SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a dishwasher and a method of operation of such machine. In accordance with one aspect, the dishwasher that washes dishes in accordance with the steps of washing, rinsing and drying, comprises the following: a container which comprises a stand for placing dishes and a washout nozzle for spraying the washing water; a tray which collects the washing water supplied into the container; a filtering device which is provided in the tray and enables to filter out the foreign substances from the washing water; and a cleaning unit which removes the foreign substances collected in the filtering device.
