FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a composite moulded article. The method involves: (a) obtaining a moulded article from a composition containing polyethylene terephthalate, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene and glass fibre or carbon fibre, and (b) depositing a coating of a reactive composition of polyurethane or rubber onto the moulded article. The moulded article at step (a) is obtained by further use of at least one or two polymers in the composition, said at least one or two polymers being selected from: polyethylene, polycarbonate, polybutylene terephthalate, polyamide, thermoplastic polyurethane, styrene-polybutadiene-styrene. The composite moulded article is a wheel and the moulded article is a hub of a running wheel. The composition for making the moulded article at step (a) contains 30-60 wt % polyethylene terephthalate, 20-60 wt % acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene and 1-50 wt % at least one or two polymers selected from: polyethylene, polycarbonate, polybutylene terephthalate, polyamide, thermoplastic polyurethane, styrene-polybutadiene-styrene.
EFFECT: obtaining a composite moulded article, having high adhesion to its coating and having strength and service life which matches characteristics of articles for the same purpose made of metal, eg cast iron articles and articles moulded from stainless steel or aluminium.
