FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: water reservoir aeration method involves making holes to allow atmospheric air to reach the water surface. The holes are made on an area with ice cover, which is then raised 5-20 cm from the water surface by pumping water from the water reservoir to the shores or discharging some of the water through a water discharge device.
EFFECT: providing ventilation of a formed air cushion and preventing direct contact of holes with the water surface reduces the amount of labour and improves reliability of aeration in severe cold.
