FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering, in particular, to the system of fuel element diagnostics and diagnostics of other chemical sources of electric energy, and may be used in autonomous, reserve, aviation power plants. In the proposed method they measure voltage of a reference electrode, installed on one of working electrodes of the fuel element, and calculate the extent of its wear, and compare it with the value of the critical wear of the current source, afterwards they make a conclusion on suitability or unsuitability of further operation of the source of current.
EFFECT: high-quality and continuous control, making it possible to track condition of a fuel element and predict its operability and duration of work.
