FIELD: engines and pumps, devices for fuel combustion.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ignition of combustible mixtures by means of electric spark, particularly to capacitive ignition units, and can be used to control ignition systems installed on the engine. Method of controlling an aircraft engines capacitive ignition system involves measurement of a time interval between sequential reservoir capacitor discharge current pulses running to the spark plug and caused solely by switching of power stored at the said capacitor and exceeding the preset check magnitude, measured time interval between the said reservoir capacitor discharge current pulses is compared with the preset time interval describing the allowable minimum repetition frequency of spark discharges in the plug spark gap characterized by that during operation of the ignition system measured is ambient pressure in the volume, where the working end of the plug is arranged, caused by effect on the medium of the spark discharge on the plug working end caused by switching to the plug of the stored at the storage capacitor energy exceeding the preset reference value, serviceability of the ignition system is determined by the measured pressure of the preset reference value.
EFFECT: higher reliability of controlling an aircraft engines capacitive ignition system.
