FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary science and medicine, particularly to a method for making a surgical suture with an antibacterial coating. A suspension is prepared by mixing a silver powder with the particle size of 300-500 mcm and a titanium dioxide powder in ratio 1:30; then the powder is dissolved in distilled water to the concentration of the TiO2-Ag complex of 2.5-3 mg/kg. The prepared suspension is used to process a surgical suture in DAIHAN WUC-A06H ultrasonic washing apparatus at an oscillation frequency of 20-30 kHz for 30-60 minutes and dried for 6-8 hours at a temperature of 50-70°C in a drying chamber. The suspension 70-80 mg is applied to one metre of the surgical suture.

EFFECT: method enables eliminating developing postoperative inflammations ensured by the long-term antibacterial stability, and also improves the properties of the coupled surface.
