FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to the method for servicing a hot chamber for storage, movement and processing of radioactive materials. The proposed device comprises a wall crossed by a cavity equipped with a monitoring tool, at the same time the tool comprises a cap protruding inside the chamber, a screen of biological protection, a monitoring sensor installed between the cap and the screen, a mechanism of sensor movement between the removed position and the extended position. In the proposed method it is specified to withdraw the protective screen, the monitoring sensor and the mechanism of sensor movement from the cavity outside of the chamber; if necessary, replacement of the monitoring sensor; introduction and movement of the reserve cap by sliding into the cavity until close to the cap left in the place in the cavity; introduction and movement of the biological protection screen by sliding, the monitoring sensor and the sensor movement mechanism in the cavity until contact with the reserve cap; and movement of the cap left in the cavity until its complete pushing into the chamber due to the support of the reserve cap onto the cap left in the place.

EFFECT: easier replacement of components of a monitoring tool, increased field of monitoring, and also possibility of other monitoring, apart from visual one, in particular, measurement of length between two points of a hot chamber.
