FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: what is presented is a method for prediction of the clinical outcome of acute ischemic stroke consisting in a venous blood analysis for the relation of soluble Fas ligand of the 6th member of tumour necrosis factor receptor (sFasL) superfamily and soluble Fas (sFas) receptor (sFasL/sFas) on the 1st day following an ischemic stroke; and if the sFasL/sFas concentrations are related as 2.41±0.26 or less, a favourable outcome is predicted, while the relation more than 2.67 enables predicting an unfavourable outcome.

EFFECT: higher prediction accuracy.
