FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to neutralisation of hydrogen sulphide and light mercaptans in hydrocarbon media with chemical neutralising agents and can be used in oil and gas extraction and oil and gas refining industries. The invention relates to a hydrogen sulphide neutraliser which contains, wt %: urotropin 1-12, lower aliphatic alcohol, primarily methanol 14-38 and formalin - the balance.
EFFECT: high efficiency of the neutraliser, having high processability, biocidal activity and neutralising power, and which provides high degree of purification of hydrocarbon media from hydrogen sulphide with low specific consumption and cost of the neutraliser.
