FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: new minimum base antenna system is formed. The maximum value of the two-dimensional beam pattern U ( α s ' , β s ' ) of the minimum base antenna system is used to estimate, in conditions of receiving two beams, a stable single-beam value of the azimuth α s ' and elevation angle β s ' , that solution is further refined by a two-beam solution within a limited four-dimensional area α 1 ' = α s ' ± 10 deg r e e s , α 2 ' = α s ' ± 10 deg r e e s , β 1 ' = β s ' ± 10 deg r e e s , β 2 ' = β s ' ± 10 deg r e e s . The two-dimensional beam pattern U ( α s ' , β s ' ) is formed using a certain computation expression. The region for determining the stable single-beam solution α s ' β s ' is the azimuth interval 0-360 degrees and the elevation angle interval 0-90 degrees. Stability of estimates of the azimuth and elevation angle and a wide frequency range are provided by using a phase difference of two adjacent dipoles ψn+1-Ψn when forming the two-dimensional beam pattern of the antenna system.

EFFECT: shorter time for determining angular parameters of a two-beam ionospheric signal.
