FIELD: sports.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises preliminary sharpening the blade fixed in a fixing device by the tool with the fixed abrasive and polishing the working surface of the blade with the rotating polishing pad in the form of a leather buffwheel with use of polishing paste. The latter is uniformly applied to the preheated working surface of the blade. The buffwheel is uniformly passed on the working surface of the blade along it with a rate of 1 to 2 cm/sec first to the one side of the blade, and then to the other. The number of passes is selected from two to eight depending on the material of the blade. The speed of rotation of the buffwheel is selected in the range of from 20 to 30 thousand rev/min.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of sharpening by strengthening and improving the uniformity of the working surface of the blade, and increase in its resistance period.
