FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: carrying strap (1), particularly for transporting device, for example for elevator unit, includes at least one strand (2) made of predominantly electroconductive material, for example steel, to take forces taken by carrying strap, one predominantly electroinsulating sheath (3) which envelopes at least one strand (2). Strand (2) of carrying strap should be put in contact with contact element (5) to determine condition of strands (2). For this purpose, in the area of recess (12) of carrying strap (1), the sheath (3) is at least partially removed, and a strand (2) in the area of this recess (12) is at least partially opened so that at least one strand (2) has no sheath (3). At least one strand (2) can come in contact with contact element (5) without piercing the sheath (3). Connector provides interaction of contact element with at least one strand of strap. Strap manufacturing method provides formation of the said recess. Above mentioned strap and connector are used in elevator unit.

EFFECT: inventions provide higher accuracy of interaction between contact element and strands of carrying strap during their condition monitoring.
