SUBSTANCE: invention relates to belt end joint for fastening elevator haulage belt and to method of fastening elevator haulage belt end. Haulage belt 6 is retained by wedge in wedge well 11. In compliance with this invention, one wedge well surface 15, 16 facing wedge 12 features height of profile irregularities that differs from the other surface of wedge pocket 11. Surface 15 adjoining haulage belt free run of wedge pocket engagement features height of profile irregularities exceeding that of the other surface of said wedge well, or wedge well slide surface 15 adjoining belt hauling run 7 features reduced height of surface irregularities compared with the other surfaces 11 of wedge well.
EFFECT: reliable transmission of haulage force by haulage belt.
