FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in propulsion engineering. Programmed destruction part (7) is designed to shut off emergent purging channel (6) extending through diesel combustion chamber (1) of outer wall (3). Combustion chamber (1) is arranged inside the cylinder and confined by outer side of piston (3) reciprocating in cylinder to make combustion chamber outer wall (3). Emergent purging channel (6) is made in outer wall (3). Said programmed destruction part (7) is designed to protect high-output direct-flow purge two-stroke cross-head diesel engines against possible damages caused by high overpressure (py) in combustion chamber (1) brought about by diesel faults. Said programmed destruction part (7) has the point of programmed destruction at outer wall (3) to be broken at pressure (ps) required for destruction of said point. Said pressure (ps) lower that overpressure (py) wherefrom engine faults start and above maximum tolerable pressure (pn) in combustion chamber under normal operating conditions. Said programmed destruction pressure (ps) at whatever temperature (T) in temperature range (T0-T1) in combustion chamber (1) is higher than threshold pressure (pu) and lower that destruction pressure (po). Said threshold pressure (pu) is higher than maximum tolerable pressure under normal operating pressure (pn) in combustion chamber. Destruction pressure (po) is lower the lowest overpressure (py) whereat diesel faults originate. Threshold pressure (pu) is higher by least pressure (Δpu) than maximum tolerable vale under normal operating conditions (pn) in combustion chamber and/or destruction pressure (po) is lower by at least (Δpo) than the lowest overpressure (py) whereat diesel faults originate. Threshold pressure (pu) is always 10% higher than maximum pressure (pn) in combustion chamber (1) under normal operating conditions, preferably, higher than 180 bar at destruction pressure (po) being lower than 270 bar. Programmed destruction point is composed of a ring around programmed destruction plate edge with thinner wall, unlike outer wall, and bent relative to combustion chamber. Programmed destruction part (7) is made integral with programmed destruction plate. Invention covers also the diesel engine, two-stroke cross-head diesel part and method of diesel faults prevention.

EFFECT: lower probability of diesel breakage.
