FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: method of water suppression in a horizontal well with watered carbonate basins involves pumping an emulsion into the isolated interval of an oil-producing well. First, injection capacity of the isolated interval is determined and then the emulsion is successively pumped into a well in form of a mix of high-viscosity oil and commercial coal-bearing oil. With the casing valve opened, hot fresh water in pumped in at temperature of 70-80°C in volume equal to the volume of the flow string. Obtained waterproof screen is fixed with high-viscosity oil at temperature of 40-70°C.
EFFECT: increasing efficiency of waterproofing works in a horizontal well with watered carbonate basins due to the use of high-viscosity oil for creation of waterproof screen and its fixation.
