FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: to determine content of indium admixture in cassiterite used is method of laser ablation inductively-coupleded plasma mass-spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS), with analysis of monomineral cassiterite grains, which do not contain inclusions of other In-containing minerals, and determination of indium concentration by less abundant isotope 113In. Method includes measurement of signal intensity from analytical lines of 113In, 113Cd, 110Cd and 111Cd with further mathematical processing, eliminating the effects of interference from analytical lines of cadmium and calculation of indium concentration in cassiterite by external standard taking into account internal standard, with concentrations of iron and/or titanium, determined by electron microprobe, being used as such.

EFFECT: possibility to accurately evaluate indium content in cassiterite and avoid mistakes in determination due to superposition of analytical lines or presence of microinclusions in mineral.
