SUBSTANCE: apparatus for controlling a railway crossing using a radio channel includes a control unit connected to a CAN interface, which is connected to a railway crossing object interface, which is connected to a protecting signal unit, a car traffic light unit, lifting gate actuators and path barrier actuators, and a wireless modem connected through an interface to the CAN interface. The apparatus further includes a unit for calculating the length of the warning portion, which comprises series-connected data input module, data verification module, instruction generating module and format converter. The data input module and the format converter are connected through the CAN interface to the control unit.
