The module (24) consists of a body (34) with a mounted circuit board with at least one signal processing unit, at least one bus connector (36, 38) which passes through the first side of the body and a set of terminal blocks (40) to connect field wires to the field equipment, at that the terminal blocks are placed at the second side of the body. At least one signal processing unit includes at least one unit for conversion of input and output signals to/from the field equipment and interfacing through the bus as per the bus communications protocol.
