FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: ultraviolet target detection device comprises an optical system, a multi-anode photomultiplier consisting of a photocathode, a first micro-channel plate, a second micro-channel plate, a collector, square anodes and a processing and control unit, which includes a multichannel charge-to-voltage converter, a multichannel analogue-to-digital converter, a processor, a multichannel high-voltage supply and a time determining unit. The diameter of the square anodes is more than double the diameter of the photocathode and the electron avalanche diameter in the plane of the square anodes is greater than the diameter of the photocathode.

EFFECT: simplification of the device while increasing operational speed and accuracy of determining the time of arrival and coordinates of radiation quanta.
