FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in that radiation from tested object is sent through optical system that allows radiation flow in preset solar-blind range and suppression of other waves on different wavelength to register receipt of separate photon. Photon coordinate and time of its arrival are defined. UV source position is determined. Amplitude-time variation of flow density is measured to define radiation source type therefrom. Device optical system incorporates filter crystal and UV radiation interference filter system to isolate required interval of UV radiation. Monophoton time-coordinate-sensitive detector represents UV radiation detection system.
EFFECT: higher sensitivity and accuracy of range finding.
