FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method involves installation of an upper half-coupling and a lower half-coupling on the damaged pipeline section with the half-couplings having edge preparation for welding with the bevel angle of 10-30°. The half-couplings are welded to form a cylindrical coupling with annular gap of 6-40 mm between the coupling and the pipeline. The coupling ends are sealed hermetically and composite material is supplied to the annular gap through the coupling inlet branch pipe until the composite material appears in the outlet branch pipe of the coupling. Prior to the coupling installation its inner surface and the surface of the damaged pipeline section are subject to shot blasting by abrasive material with particle size of 0.5-2.5 mm under the air pressure of 0.6-0.8 MPa and at the distance of 200-300 mm from the outlet hole of the shot blasting unit nozzle to the treated surface.
EFFECT: improved operational reliability of the repaired pipeline section, increased cost efficiency of the method.
