FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: first and second versions of methods for recognition of the class of a target are based on the result of multiplying velocity of the target Vt by the time tp it takes the target to fly a known distance S, which is considerably shorter than the length L of the target calculated by a radar station, where L= Vt×tp, wherein the time it takes the target to fly a known distance is measured between moments of detecting difference signals at frequency: 3Fdo+3Fdo×δ=3(2Vofo/C)+3×δ×(2Vofo/C) and 3(2Vofo/C)-3×5×(2Vofo/C), where Fdo is Doppler frequency of the protective weapon, δ is a coefficient which determines the length of the known distance, and the velocity of the target is measured by a known radar station for measuring initial velocity of the missile. The first version employs a radiator of a continuous signal with modulation frequency on a one-side saw-tooth linearly rising law, and the second version employs a one-side saw-tooth linearly falling law. The first and second versions of the devices for recognising the class of a target are designed to implement corresponding methods.
EFFECT: high efficiency of operation of systems for active protection of objects.
