FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: application: for control of a medium agitation, such as raw oil agitation in a reservoir. Concept of the invention lies in that in the process of agitation in turn by each reversible electroacoustic transducer a wideband acoustic signal is transmitted through the medium to other reversible electroacoustic transducers, these signals are received and converted by other reversible electroacoustic transducers except the transducer which emitted this wideband acoustic signal, to the respective received electrical signals, at that processing of the received signals is made by calculation of cross-correlation functions of each received electrical signal, the total width of a correlation response is calculated, completion of oil agitation is evaluated against stabilisation in the total width of the correlation response.
EFFECT: improvement in accuracy of the medium inhomogenuity determination as well as in determination of the agitation degree.
