FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method includes forming first and second identical test samples from granular or porous materials; bringing said samples into thermal contact on a plane with a heat source; bringing the outer surface of the samples into thermal contact with reference samples and bringing the outer surface of reference samples into thermal contact with the heat sources; supplying heat to the samples and measuring specific power of the heat sources; measuring, with constant time spacing, temperature, specific volume of the solid phase of the samples, heat flux from those surfaces of flat heat sources that were not brought into thermal contact with reference samples; determining heat flux through the test samples and calculating specific heat capacity.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining specific heat capacity of porous, fibrous and granular materials.
