FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, in particular to shock absorber structures used in central swing suspension of freight car trucks. The friction shock absorber contains friction wedge 1, interacting by its vertical surface 2 with friction spline installed on support column of side frame, and by its inclined surface 5 - with corresponding surface 6 of bolster 7 via cover plate 8. The cover plate is made of elastomer and fixed in grooves 9 of friction wedge using projections 10, entering similar recesses 11 on the inclined surface of friction wedge. Projections on the cover plate are made straightline and placed along its diagonals. At the place of diagonal intersection, projection is made in the form of truncated cone. Along axes of symmetry, on end parts of the cover plate, triangle projections are made the facets of which are located in parallel to straightline projections. Distance along normal line between parallel facets of straightline and triangle projections is equal to width of straightline projection.
EFFECT: technical result from use of invention consists in reliability of cover plate mounting and simplicity of the whole device manufacturing, where loads taken by friction wedge are uniformly distributed throughout cover plate surface.
