FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vibration dampers used in central spring suspension of freight car bogies. Proposed friction-type vibration damper has friction wedge 1 engaging through vertical surface 2 with friction plate installed on support column of side frame and, through its inclined surface 5, with corresponding surface 6 of overspring beam 7 through cover plate 8. Said cover plate is made of elastomer and is secured in slots 9 of friction wedge by means of projections 10 getting into corresponding cavities 11 on inclined surface of friction wedge. Projections on cover plate are made straight-line and are arranged along diagonals. Projection in form of truncated cone is made in place of intersection of diagonals. Triangular projections are made on end part of cover plate on axes of symmetry, faces of triangular projections being arranged in parallel with straight-line projections. Distance along normal between parallel faces of straight-line and triangular projections is equal to width of straight-line projection. Loads taken by friction wedge are uniformly distributed over surface of cover plate.
EFFECT: improved reliability of fastening of cover plate, facilitated making of device as a whole.
