FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to inspect objects using penetrating radiation. The apparatus for inspecting objects using electromagnetic beams comprises at least two adjacent inspection units, having at least one radiation source for generating electromagnetic radiation and at least one detector linked to the radiation source, mounted in a container-type portable housing, wherein the inspection units are arranged such that an object is irradiated from different directions.
EFFECT: designing an apparatus for inspecting objects which enables easy adaptation to different applications with high quality of inspection.
