FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to signal processing methods, which allow detecting and measuring pulses from point objects of optic and electronic scanning devices. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that a model of a useful target signal is used in a far zone; signals are filtered by a filter that provides useful pulses with certain ratios between adjacent pulses of various polarity as to time; a value of positive and negative pulses is measured; the value of positive and negative pulses is compared at adjacent intervals as to time, and pulses are chosen as per their ratio, which cannot be referred to useful ones (interference pulses) with high probability, and those pulses, which probably can be referred to useful ones (target pulses); values of chosen interference pulses are averaged; their averaged value is used for setting a threshold level and a decision is taken on detection of a target pulse and on measurement of other parameters of this pulse if the value of this pulse exceeds the threshold level. Assessment of the pulse value is performed by summation of current pulse values. Equivalent pulse frequency is determined by division of a sum of squares of current pulse values by a square of the sum of current pulse values.

EFFECT: detection of electrical pulses from point objects at unknown noise level in a wide range of pulse duration.
