SUBSTANCE: invention relates to distribution of content to create a customised stream by combining advertising with an input stream. The method comprises selecting a playlist of first multimedia content items and determining potential second multimedia content items by matching information from the first and second multimedia content items, and selecting at least one of the determined second multimedia content items based on a user profile, metadata of the first and second multimedia content item and/or a distribution scheme for distributing the second multimedia content item into the playlist of first multimedia content items. The selection includes determining the number of potential second multimedia content items and, if said number is greater than one, sorting said items according to a first relevance coefficient and sorting according to a second relevance coefficient if items with the highest first relevance coefficient are more than one. Furthermore, selection includes determining potential second multimedia content items having the highest second relevance coefficient. Further, a personal television system is presented with the selected second multimedia content items along with first multimedia content items.
EFFECT: enabling a user to obtain targeted advertising content matching the interests of the user.
