SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synchronisation of digital multimedia content. A method of synchronising digital multimedia content with a device, which is a computing device configured to reproduce digital multimedia content, the method comprising the following steps: identifying a digital multimedia collection associated with a user; analysing content of the digital multimedia collection to obtain metadata-based "taste characteristics" for said user; identifying, based on analysis of the metadata-based "taste characteristics", the priority order in which multimedia content files are to be provided to said synchronisation device; providing said device while synchronising one or more multimedia content files in the priority order.
EFFECT: synchronising multimedia files between two devices taking into account user taste preferences.
