SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing betulin, which includes extraction of betulin from birch bark while boiling using an organic solvent in form of butyl or isobutyl alcohol, which is marginally miscible with water, treating the obtained extract with alkali, washing with water and separating the water, dividing the formed two-phase system by settling or separation, washing the extract, concentrating the extract and obtaining betulin from the purified extract by crystallising. Extraction is carried out by boiling birch bark in a solvent before treating with alkali. After extraction, the extract from the birch bark is drained and then treated with alkali. After dividing the formed two-phase system, the extract is washed with water. Concentration is carried out in a vacuum and during slow cooling, betulin is separated from the concentrated extract by crystallising. To intensify the process, extraction can be carried out in a low-frequency pneumatic oscillatory mode.

EFFECT: simple process and low power consumption of the process, while obtaining betulin with good output and purity.
