SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication. The messaging system includes a message delivery system which receives a text message intended for a recipient and initiates delivery of the text message to the recipient. The messaging system also includes a message notification system which detects if a recipient is engaged in an active voice call during delivery of a text message, identifies information for the text message, converts the information on the text message to voice information for generating a voice notification and initiates transmission of the voice notification to the recipient, which is played back during the active voice call.
EFFECT: providing voice notification on a text message to an end user while the end user is in an active voice call.
