FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: skin is incised along a defect edge of the medial orbital border, the superciliary region, then towards the scalp and along the hair growth border of the frontal area to the temporal interface. A musculocutaneous flap is mobilised completely along the full length. A periosteal graft is separated with preserving the supraorbital neurovascular bundle from the counterlateral side. The periosteal graft is rotated into the defect to cover the bottom and walls of the skeletonised frontal sinus. The periosteal graft edges are matched layer-in-layer with surrounding tissues. The musculocutaneous flap is particularly de-epidermised, placed into the defect by filling the defect with the de-epidermised segment of the flap and fixing.
EFFECT: method enables providing the higher functional and aesthetic effect of surgery by an adequate elimination of the defect by the flap of local tissues with good blood supply with observing a shape and texture of the soft-tissue component.
