SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compaction of metal scrap and pressing of broken-down carriers. Press comprises bottom plate with smooth surface and top pressure plate with bulged working surface. Top plate is coupled with crank gear drive. Con-rod is rigidly coupled with top plate and articulated with swinging slider. Said slider is secured at stationary strut. Crank articulated with con-rod is arranged to turn ay bottom plate base. Centre of curvature of top plate bulged working surface is located at extension of con-rod axis on swinging slider side.

EFFECT: decreased overall dimensions, enhanced performances.
