FIELD: physics, optics.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a device for forming and observing dynamic and static three-dimensional holographic images. The device has a laser radiation source, a light guide and holographic optical elements lying on the surface of the light guide. The device further includes a spatial light modulator configured to form a digital hologram, and a device which combines a digital circuit for electronic control of the spatial light modulator and an interface unit. Elements of the device are arranged along the optical axis of the device on the direction from the radiation source to the holographic optical element at the output of the device such that the spatial light modulator is located on the light guide after the holographic optical element, which is configured to input radiation into the light guide, and before the holographic optical element configured to output radiation from the light guide.

EFFECT: reconstruction of the three-dimensional image of an object which is synthesised using software and hardware, observation with the eye of which can be identical to observation of real three-dimensional objects.
