FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, particularly, to production of rail steel. Proposed method comprises blowing the melt with oxygen, melt tapping into ladle, formation of cover slag in ladle and processing of melt in degasser. Some 1-3 minutes before blowing termination melt temperature is measured, carbon content is defined by liquidus to define carbon content in the melt corresponding to the end of melt blowing by oxygen. After blowing, burnt ferroalloys are fed to ladle bottom with content of aluminium over 0.05% and titanium over 0.1%. Then, in 1-1.5 minute after termination of blowing, melt is tapped from converter into ladle. At tapping, burnt ferroalloys are fed with content of aluminium smaller than 0.05% and that of titanium smaller than 0.1%. At the end of melt tapping, the main cover slag is formed in ladle. Prior to melt processing in degasser, cover slag is reduced in ladle by silicon-bearing ferroalloys of 0-5 mm-fraction in amount of 0.3-0.8 kg/t. Note that at processing of melt in degasser for final reduction and modification Fe-Si-Ba admixture is added with barium content of 15-35%.
EFFECT: high durability of rails.
