FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to structural chemistry and specifically to fireproofing materials, and is intended for application of a fireproofing coating on a single cable, a bundle of cables or cable lines during construction of different buildings and structures for preventing flame propagation on the surface of the cable. The fireproofing composition includes thermally expanded graphite, a styrene-acrylic dispersion, a fire retardant - ammonium polyphosphate, functional additives - kaolin, ethylene glycol, a paraffin-based antifoaming agent and a urethane thickener, with the following ratio of components, wt %: ammonium polyphosphate 5-15; oxidised graphite - 10-20; kaolin - 5-15; styrene-acrylic dispersion - 45-60; plasticiser (chlorinated paraffin wax, KHP-470, KHP-70) - 0.5-5; antifoaming agent - 0.1-1; urethane thickener - 0.1-0.8; ethylene glycol - 0.5-5; water - the balance.
EFFECT: improved fireproofing effect of the coating owing to improved adhesion, low film-forming temperature of the material, low toxicity of combustion products and high resistance to liquid media during use.
