SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrument-making and can be used mobile communication devices. The navigation device includes: a geomagnetic sensor which detects the geomagnetic field of the navigation device; an orientation calculation unit which calculates the orientation of the navigation device based on the detected geomagnetic field; a support detection unit which detects if the navigation device is connected to a support and outputs a signal indicating that the navigation device is connected to a support; and an operation control unit which receives the signal output by the support detection unit, and controls the orientation calculation unit to prevent detection of orientation of the navigation device based on the detected geomagnetic field.
