FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used in optical communication systems. Disclosed is a light module which comprises at least two primary light sources capable of emitting primary colour light. This allows the light module to emit light having intensity (Y) and colour coordinates (x, y) through additive colour mixing of the constituent primary colours. The light module also comprises a modulator capable of modulating the primary light sources enabling the embedding of data in the emitted light. The modulator is assembled to modulate the colour coordinates of the emitted light for embedding the data. This is especially advantageous as the sensitivity of the human eye to changes in colour is lower than to changes in intensity. Data are therefore embedded in the light from light modules of an illumination system.

EFFECT: embedding data in emitted light and improving data transmission efficiency.
