FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: posterior vaginal wall is incised. A portion of diverticular rectocele is removed from the vagina. A purse suture is formed to capture anterior portions of levators and sphincter fibres. A levator suture is tightened after a circular resection of a mucous-submucous layer of the rectum. The mucous-submucous layer of the rectum is transnasally resected. Rectal wound edges are underrun and brought together. Suture ends are tightened about a rod of a stapler head. The integrity of the posterior vaginal wall is restored by interrupted sutures.
EFFECT: combined surgical management of degree II-III rectocele, reduced risk of recurrences, shorter stay in hospital.
