SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a process cartridge having an electrophotographic light-sensitive drum and a developing roller which acts on the electrophotographic light-sensitive drum, configured to be connected to each other and separated from each other, and to an electrophotographic image forming apparatus in which said process cartridge is detachably mounted. Disclosed is a process cartridge which is detachably mounted in the main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the main assembly comprising an opening, a door configured to move between a closed position for closing the opening and an open position for opening the opening, a first force-applying element configured to move together with the door from an open position to a closed position, and a second force-applying element configured to be moved by a driving force from a drive, wherein the process cartridge has an electrophotographic light-sensitive drum, a developing drum for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the electrophotographic light-sensitive drum, a drum unit having an electrophotographic light-sensitive drum, a developing unit having a developing roller and configured to move relative to the drum unit such that the developing roller is able to move between a contact position, in which the developing roller is in contact with the electrophotographic light-sensitive drum, and a withdrawn position in which the developing roller is withdrawn from the electrophotographic light-sensitive drum, and a force-receiving device having a first force-receiving portion for receiving a force from the first force-applying element when the door is moved from an open position to a closed position in a state when the process cartridge is mounted in the main assembly of an apparatus without an opening, and a second force-receiving portion configured to move from a movement waiting position of the first force-receiving element under the action of a force received from the first force-applying element, in which the second force-receiving portion assumes a protruding position for receiving a force from the second force-applying element for moving the developing unit from a contact position to a withdrawn position, wherein the protruding position lies higher than the waiting position.

EFFECT: designing a smaller process cartridge in which the electrophotographic light-sensitive drum and the developing roller can be brought into contact with each other and separated from each other, and a smaller image forming apparatus in which said process cartridge can be detachably mounted, and designing a process cartridge in which the electrophotographic light-sensitive drum and the developing roller can be brought into contact with each other and separated from each other, wherein the force-receiving portion is not damaged during manipulations with the process cartridge or when transporting the process cartridge.
