SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to leatherette with ultrathin fibres and a method of its manufacture, namely the weaving technology is applied using the double-layer nap with use of high-strength fibres (or other fibres) for the basic warp and the basic weft, using ultrathin polyester fibres such as "islands in the sea". V-shaped or W-shaped fixtures are used to weave the three-dimensional fabric. Additionally the polyurethane resin impregnation, alkali treatment, grinding, staining and finishing is applied. The leatherette according to the present invention has the following unique characteristics: thin surface nap; high density, strong feeling of genuine leather, good wear resistance, dimensional stability; good moisture permeability, good staining resistance, excellent mechanical properties. The leather can be used as leather for clothing, leather for shoes, as the interior material in the car, leather for furniture, etc.
EFFECT: increased wear resistance.
