SUBSTANCE: set of invention relates to automotive industry. Air cushion system comprises first chamber (5) filled with gas (19). First chamber (5) has first area (8) and at least one extra area (9) in first direction (10). Besides, air cushion system has second chamber (6) adjoining said first chamber (5) in second direction (11). Second direction (11) differs from said first direction (10). Air cushion is configured so that second chamber (6) can be filled with gas (19) via first chamber (5) first area (8), main gas flow direction being aligned with second direction (11). Method of air cushion production comprises the steps that follow. Twisting and/or folding of second chamber (6) are performed, at least at separated sections, opposite the first direction (10). Twisting and/or folding of second chamber (6) is performed the second direction (11), while twisting and/or folding of first chamber (5) is performed opposite the first direction (10).
EFFECT: reliable and efficient positioning of air cushion.
